I have yet to try the bentonitie clay + aloe vera juice, and although I still want to try it I’m afraid it will make my hair dryer than it already is as well. I’ve been natural since ’06, and I am new to the Homemade/DIY scene. I just got my very first batch of shea butter, coconut oil, castor oil etc. (the staples) and I have to admit I am a bit intimidated… I’m gonna browse your blog for recipes.

Yes, both made my hair really dry and I too struggle with dryness. no beuno.

I was a little intimidated at making my own products at first as well, but now I love it and look forward to it. I am still tweaking my butters, so I don’t have a recipe for that…yet. My best advice would be to experiment, make small batches and write down what you did. That way, if it doesn’t work well you don’t feel as wasteful and if it works great, you have the recipe written down for next time.

When you are making a butter whip, keep in mind that it makes double if not almost triple the amount the butter you put in. HTH! Please check back and let me know how your mixing goes. I really do enjoy hearing from people.
