TWA Style Challenge

By  |  2 Comments

So I am kinda getting bored of doing twist-out after twist-out and I am ready to try something new.  Since my hair is still in what I would consider the TWA (teen weeny afro) stage, I feel like I don’t really have a lot of style options, but then I haven’t really tried either.  In doing a search online and on Youtube, I noticed that the majority of the styling videos geared towards people with a TWA mainly consist of doing a twist-out or WNG (wash and go) with an added accessory.  To me adding an accessory does not count as a “style.”  So I decided to challenge myself to do a different style a week for the next four weeks.  If any other TWA curlies would like to join me, feel free to post your TWA pictures on my Facebook wall here.  I can use all of the inspiration I can get!  If you have done a styling video on a TWA that does not consist of just a WNG or twist-out with an accessory, post it on the Facebook wall or leave the link in the comments section of this post.  I will post them to the blog for inspiration for myself and others.

ooh, you’re a good one. I don’t wanna do my hair. it’s all i can do just to retwist my locs. let me know how that goes.
the hair shelac i concoted was okay. im going to swap the shea for coconut oil and see if i like that better. i think i might. p.s. flax seed gel is reeeeeeeallly penile, not for the faint of heart. lol

I like flax seed gel! I add some lemongrass essential oil to scent it. I am not a gel person, so this is the only thing I can use and still have a clear conscience. Lol. I did the first style and posted it on youtube (http://youtu.be/yV4G7Buwj60). I’ll post it to the blog later this week. Let me know how your recipe change goes!
