Review: JASON® Aloe Vera Deodorant Stick
I’ve been looking for a natural deodorant to use that is NOT the crystal “rock” as I call it. I don’t know what the real name is, but when I was in my teen years, my mom read an article on the dangers of anti perspirants and aluminum. This lead to a ban on aluminum foil and “real” deodorant in our house. My brothers and I were not happy campers when she introduced us to a “rock” we were supposed to rub on our armpits. It came in a container like a regular roll-on deodorant, but it was some type of crystal that you wet first and then swiped across your pits. It was NOT the business and I felt like I was funky every day. To this day, I do not believe that it works and do not like the sight of it in my presence. My mom, however, still swears by it.
I was in Target a couple of weeks ago and they had a bunch of Jason’s and Tom’s products marked down by 50% or more so I figured that was my chance to find a deodorant. I chose the Jason® brand, Aloe Vera Deodorant Stick.
From the label: Jason® Aloe Vera Deodorant Stick utilizes the healing properties of Organic Aloe Vera Gel and Bisabolol (derived from Chamomile) to help rid the body of odor and to soothe delicate skin.
Ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Aqua (Purified Water), Calcium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Sodium Stearate, Silica, Ethylhexylglycerin, Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Gel*, Zinc Ricinoleate, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit. E), Bisabolol, Fragrance Oil Blend.
I used this deodorant for a week straight with no problems until sometime last week. This was my status message last Wednesday…
I like that it uses natural ingredients and does not irritate my sensitive skin, but I think I will do better with this during the winter months. The weather here in Georgia has been fluctuating between cold, cool and warm. Last Wednesday was a little warm and with a crowded thrift store on half off day, I was starting to feel not so fresh. I don’t believe there was an odor that anyone else could smell (I have a super nose) and I was with a friend that does not mince words. When I got home, I immediately shed my clothes and checked my pits. Yup, not fresh at all. Now, I understand that natural deodorants are not quite as potent and sometimes require re-application, but I don’t want to add deodorant to the things that I tote around in my purse. That thing is heavy enough as it is. Lol. For now, I am back to my regular deodorant that is clogging my pores…I will revisit this deodorant when the cold comes back.
Does anyone else have any experience with natural deodorants?
