I have a special place in my heart for photographers and here’s another feature.  Meet Sheora!

Name: Sheora M. Harris
Location: Virginia
Types of Media/Mediums: Photography | Design | Journalism

How long have you been creating art and how did you get started?

I have been creating this art form since 2007 when I began to explore Photography and Design as a hobby while studying Mass Communications and Journalism at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. I began by discovering photography techniques with friends who’d allow me to take pictures of them via impromptu photo sessions and expanding my editing skills thereafter.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

I draw my inspiration from unique persons, fashion, and music. Individuality is a Photographer’s best friend, so the uniqueness of people inspire me. Fashion inspires me to draw from styles that are unique and ever changing while remaining true to the individuality of my clients. Music is my freedom. Music feeds my ideas and gives me inspiration to continually fuel my passion to create this art form. Music is an energy for me. Especially, Soul Music.

Do you have any formal training and if so, where did you study?

Yes. Virginia Union University and The School of Life and Experimentation. Many art forms are learned and maintained by not being afraid to experiment.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years with your artwork?

In 10 years, I see myself providing professional photography and design works to many, owning a magazine and providing Direction in Photography to others.

Do you do portraiture and/or weddings?

Yes, I provide portraiture and wedding services.

How can we find more of your work and or contact you for a photography session?

My email:

Do you have any upcoming shows or events where you will be showcased?  If so, where?

Yes, Later this year. TBA.

Freelance Graphic Designer, Lifestyle Blogger, Natural Hair Enthusiast and Fitness Convert...yeah, I wear a lot of hats. :)

As one of sheunique photography’s closest followers I offer my candid comment: It has been a joy to observe my sibling pursue her passion and mold her craft from what started as a hobby to what is now a profession. Unbound by convention and constantly experimenting with fresh techniques, Sheora has discovered a way to infuse new significance to the addage, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Olan Mills and all you other run-of-the-mill photographers- get ya game up. Truly some of the hottest work on the market. And I’m not just saying that because she’s family. The work speaks for itself– peep the portfolio.
